Becky Aligada, a retail Bprofessional from the state of Georgia, United States of America once said” But every memory of friendship shared, even for a short time, is a treasure, like sunshine and warmth in our lives, like a cool breeze in a humid day, like a share of rain refreshing this earth.”
While in agreement with this, Robert Southey, an English poet and Poet Laureate from 1813 till his death, summed up the power inherent in old students or friends of yesteryears creating time to bond together as they share old memories and relive it.” No distance of place or lapse of time can lessen the friendship of those who are thoroughly persuaded of each other’s worth.”
These words aptly captured the reunion of the C & S High School Ilesha 1979 set. Speaking at the event, the president of the 1979 set of C&S HIGH SCHOOL, ILESHA Toyin Abe said the turnout of his mates, the new members already reconnected to the platform and the impact the group had made both in the life of members and the alma mater on projects execution is a pointer to the fact that the Set appreciate the grace of God upon their lives.
Those in attendance took time to talk about experiences in the past 45 years since the last time and used the opportunity for a new networking that they all believed have the potential to give added values their lives.
The way the members relived the old experiences of the past and how they navigated some difficulties then was remarkable and a reflection of appreciation for the goodness of God in their lives. It is definitely a reunion never to be forgotten in a hurry, and this was reflected in the responses of the attendees for the next physical reunion that will be hosted in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital of Nigeria.
