HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE
The human body was not created for medicines. The human body has an innate mechanism or ability to heal itself of sicknesses and rid itself of diseases.
Where the body becomes overwhelmed and this self-healing ability is thrown off gear, there is always something in NATURE that, if identified and properly administered, gets the body back on stream and recover its ability for self-healing.
There are over 90 essential nutrients the human body needs to perform basic functions and to grow.
These nutrients are essential because the body cannot make them on its own, they must be obtained from the right kind of foods or the right kind of supplementation.
Of these over 90 essential nutrients are 60 minerals, 16 vitamins, 12 essential amino acids and 3 essential fatty acids.
Where these are missing in the human body for between 6 months to 24 months, about 10 deficiency diseases begin to manifest.
This could become the doorway to over 900 diseases that are preventable.
The good news, however, is that if you embark on a regime of the right kind of diet, proper supplementation with intermittent fasting, you begin to recover and could become 100% whole without drugs.
Today I want to deal with the scourge called HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE, AKA “HYPERTENSION,” AKA “THE SILENT KILLER,” under the following subheadings:
1. What is high blood pressure?
2. What are the misconceptions surrounding high blood pressure?
3. What are the causes and symptoms of high blood pressure?
4. What is my counsel?
1. WHAT IS HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
This is a condition where the force of the blood against the artery walls is consistently too high. It is also called HYPERTENSION.
It is a common condition that affects the body’s arteries, whereby the heart has to work harder to pump blood.
One in three adults worldwide has hypertension. About 1.3 billion people on the planet are walking around with this preventable scourge, and so many are not even aware.
2. WHAT ARE THE MISCONCEPTIONS SURROUNDING HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
If you have a consistent reading of over 130/80, you need to start making efforts to undo this scourge.
Some common misconceptions surrounding High blood pressure include:
1. If I feel fine, I don’t have high blood pressure.
2. High blood pressure is caused by stress.
3. High blood pressure only affects older people.
4. High blood pressure is a spiritual attack.
5. High blood pressure is an infectious disease.
6. Family history means you are destined to have high blood pressure.
7. Red wine is good for the heart
8. Salt causes high blood pressure.
3. WHAT ARE THE CAUSES AND SYMPTOMS OF HIGH BLOOD PRESSURE?
Hypertension usually has no symptoms, that’s why it is called “THE SILENT KILLER.” But if you have a migraine, pressure in your eyes or anything you can associate with hypertension on a personal level, then you already have an emergency in your hand.
CAUSES:-
1. 90% of hypertension cases are classified as IDIOPATHIC or ESSENTIAL hypertension. This means that 90% of hypertension cases are from unknown causes or origins. To put it mildly, 90% of the time, the heart is perfectly fine, but drugs are administered to bring down the blood pressure whose cause was not investigated or known. Simply put, hypertension cases are misdiagnosed 90% of the time and the innocent guy which is the heart, is wrongly bombarded with medications while the root cause goes uninvestigated for as long as the patient is alive.
2. Metabolic syndrome
This is one of the causes of high blood pressure and a doorway to several other diseases.
Metabolic syndrome is when you have 2 or more of the following:
A. Abdominal Obesity (waist circumference of 120cm or 40 inches for men and 88 cm or 35 inches for women)
B. Triglycerides greater than 150 mg/dl or 1.7 mmol/l
C. HDL cholesterol less than 40 mg/dl (1.04 mmol/l) for men or less than 50 mg/dl (1.29 mmol/l) for women.
D. Resting, Calm, Relaxed blood pressure reading of greater than 130/80
E. 12 hrs – 14 hrs fasting glucose level greater than 100 mg/dl (5.6 mmol/l).
Any 2 or more of the above are guaranteed to cause hypertension and any of the following:
I. Neurological disorders like Dementia and Alzheimers
II. Type 2 Diabetes, which could cause blindness, impotence in men, renal diseases and amputation
III. PCOS in women, fibroids, hormonal imbalances, inability to get pregnant
IV. NALD, i.e., non-alcoholic fatty liver disease
V. Cancers of various kind
VI. Increased risk of a stroke
VII. Cardiovascular diseases like heart attack, arterial blockage and heart failure
VIII. Reduced quality of life and death.
4. WHAT IS MY COUNSEL?
A. To determine the root cause of high blood pressure, run tests that can help identify underlying causes, such as kidney disease, hormonal imbalances, or cardiovascular disease, to guide treatment decisions.
These tests can help identify underlying causes of high blood pressure and guide treatment decisions.
B. Abstain from processed and ultra-processed food. Suck the orange instead of drinking orange juice. Eat the fruits instead of drinking smoothies. Eat food as close to nature as possible. If it comes in a box or it has more than 3 ingredients, then something has been done to it which has altered its natural form.
C. Abstain from seed oils like vegetable oil, canola oil, soy oil, sunflower oil, raspberry oil, etc., and oils that you will always see things written on the label like “cholesterol free,” “heart friendly,” etc. There is usually no advertisement for healthy oil because it stands on a level all by itself. Where have you seen any advertisements for natural healthy oils like extra virgin, cold pressed, unrefined olive oil or coconut oil, beef tallow, avocado oil, or butter (not margarine like blue band).
D. Reduce or cut off carbohydrates completely and increase your consumption of animal fats and animal protein to help the body change its energy source to KETONES which is a SUPERSONIC ENGINE AND GOLDMINE of efficient energy sources for the body than glucose.
E. As a form of daily ritual, take the right quality and dosage of supplements in order to shore-up shortfalls in essential nutrients that are not readily available in food.
F. Embark on between 16hr to 18hr water fast once or twice a week, 48 hr water fast once a month, 72 hr water fast once every quarter and 7 days water fast at least once every year to naturally reset and give your entire body a better fighting chance against diseases.
G. Get into physical activities. You may not be able to afford a gym membership, walk 30 mins once a day or skip for 20 mins in your bedroom twice a day, or ride a bicycle for 45 mins once a day. Whatever you do, ensure you don’t live a sedentary lifestyle.
H. Adequately hydrate throughout the course of your day. Drink water, not juice, at least 2 litres of water slowly, gradually, and intermittently throughout the day.
I hope you have learnt something today.
In the next edition we will be looking at INFERTILITY IN WOMEN! What is infertility? Why can’t I get pregnant? Why do I have constant miscarriages? How can I naturally deal with painful menstruation? Why do I have heavy bleeding during my monthly flow? These and several other questions will be answered in the course of next month’s edition.
Thank you for making it a date with me as I navigate you into HEALING BY NATURE.
