UGANDA
CRUDE REPORTS MAGAZINE Question: What is happening in Uganda as regards the oil and gas industry compared to what you have seen at SAIPEC here in Lagos, Nigeria.
ANSWER: Jessica Cheineff, Content Specialist, Uganda National Oil Company (UNOC).
“In Uganda, we are still new to the oil and gas sector. We are expecting our first oil at the end of this year, which means Nigeria is far, far ahead in everything to do with the oil and gas sector.

We have laws, we have regulations, but the capacity that Nigeria has is not comparable to what we have in Uganda. We are ready for collaboration. That is why we have a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). With Petroleum Technology Association of Nigeria (PETAN) and we have NCDMB supporting us all the way from benchmarking and all those things and I think Nigeria is doing a fantastic job to support Uganda to become great in the oil and gas industry.”

ANSWER: Jessica Cheineff:
“Our expectations definitely are that at the end of SAIPEC 2025, all Nigerian oil and gas companies will come to. MOROCCO
CRUDE REPORTS MAGAZINE Question: What is the potential for oil and gas industry in Morocco.
ANSWER: Salwa Didi.

“Morocco has very large sedimentary basins which gives very big opportunities. We also have good prospects onshore and offshore. We have a very important portfolio. Some prospects were drilled offshore and onshore. We made some discoveries. We found that the reserves are small. We are still exploring but we don’t have enough wells so far in both onshore and offshore. So we have some discoveries, may be gas. In Onshore Morocco we are producing gas from the two main basins.
In offshore, we made a discovery of gas in the northern part of the offshore Atlantic. We are still promoting our sedimentary basins, and we believe we still have promising potential there.”
